SENSATIONAL EXHIBITION “INTERNI ITALIANI” BY WORLD-RENOWNED PHOTOGRAPHER MASSIMO LISTRI CAPTIVATES BELGRADE

BELGRADE, May 20, 7 PM – The sensational exhibition by the legendary, internationally acclaimed Italian photographer Massimo Listri at the Belgrade City Museum Salon has completely captivated the audience. This titan of the global art scene, whose photographic oeuvre defines an entire era of aesthetics and visual refinement, presented some of his most significant masterworks last night. The scenes captured in the artist’s distinctive style are so deeply immersive that they leave visitors with a profound desire to return and contemplate them further.

This premier cultural event, entitled “Interni Italiani”, was organized by the Belgrade City Museum and the Italian Cultural Institute in Belgrade, in cooperation with the Embassy of Italy in Belgrade, and in partnership with DeGorsi Fine Arts. The exhibition also serves as an exclusive artistic segment of the prestigious cultural platform, the Salon of Excellence.

The exhibition unveils Listri’s signature aesthetic to the Belgrade public—ranging from monumental depictions of historic palaces and Roman landmarks to hidden Vatican treasures and the grandeur of Versailles. A steadfast fidelity to large-format photography, an analogue approach, and the exclusive use of natural light render his work unique on the global stage. Meanwhile, the absence of human figures in his photographs creates a specific, almost metaphysical atmosphere that invites peace and deep contemplation.

The grand opening was attended by numerous distinguished guests, and the Director of the Italian Cultural Institute, Roberto Cincotta, took the opportunity to express his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to organizing this unique exhibition.

The Ambassador of Italy to Serbia, Luca Gori, also addressed the audience, sharing his impressions of the great artist’s work, which he encapsulated in two words—beauty and light.

“When we speak of beauty, we can say that our artist is self-taught, that he comes from Florence—a city to which I also belong, from which I also come—and that he absorbed this beauty through everything Florence has to offer: through its wonderful exhibitions, museums, beautiful paintings, design, and architecture. He absorbed that beauty and truly managed to reflect it in his works in the most authentic way. When I say light, I am speaking of that unique light that emanates from our artist’s photographs. It is precisely because of this light that he succeeded in breathing life and vitality into the spaces he captured, be they palaces, their diverse interiors, various gardens, sculptures, or works of sculpture. He managed, as you can see for yourselves in these images, to reflect a light that gives the works a tone of eternity and soul. I thank the artist for the beauty and light he has bestowed upon us, and I thank all of you who came to attend the exhibition opening,” Ambassador Gori stated.

On behalf of the exhibition partners, Aleksandar Djordjevic addressed the audience on behalf of DeGorsi Fine Arts, emphasizing the importance of bringing such prestigious cultural events to the capital.

“It is an honor for DeGorsi Fine Arts to have the opportunity, in cooperation with all these institutions, to delight Belgrade with something truly beautiful and exceptional through an exhibition of this caliber featuring Massimo Listri. I guarantee you that in the future we will continue our efforts to create only beautiful projects. This year, our inspiration is Florence and its artisans, but we are complementing that concept through the realm of fine art. For this reason, it is my utmost privilege to welcome and greet our guest, Massimo Listri,” Djordjevic said.

The maestro himself, Massimo Listri, then addressed the public with warm words of gratitude, which were met with great enthusiasm by the attendees.
